Answers to Common Questions

What is the difference between a Registered Dietitian (R.D.) and a Certified Holistic Nutritional Consultant (C.H.N.C.) - a.k.a R.H.N - Registered Holistic Nutritionist?

A Certified Holistic Nutritional Consultant (or Registered Holistic Nutritionist) has earned a diploma from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. Practitioners must adhere to a Code of Ethics and Scope of Practice, remain in good standing with CSNNAA and carry liability insurance. Registered Dieticians are government regulated, having obtained a university degree with clinical training. Dieticians follow diet protocols recommended by their governing body, while R.H.N.s use a personalized and holistic approach to improve overall health, wellness and encourage disease prevention. With whole foods at the core, recommendations from an R.H.N. can also include supplements and lifestyle modifications.
